Background

Q. Can you tell us something about yourself and your pre-MBA qualifications and work-experience?
A. Pre MBA Three degrees, from three different states- 10th from my hometown in Bihar state board, I. Sc from St. Columbas College, Hazaribag in Jharkhand state board, and then engineering in computer science from C. V. Raman College of Engg., Bhubaneswar. Now MBA from IMT, Nagpur. So covered major parts of country in educational career itself. Topped in 10th from school and also among top5 in B. tech at college level. No any formal work ex as such but have worked in different areas along with regular courses. Associated with NGO, Running successful websites etc.

Q. So when did you decide to go for MBA?
A. MBA is a natural choice for me. During B. Tech also, I realized that my skills and abilities will be properly utilized in management area. Along with this, high career growth and flexible job profile was the factor which finalized my decision for MBA.

Q. Will an MBA degree add on to your existing career plan or did you decide to switch / start a career in management?
A. Being a fresher MBA degree would be a gateway for me to enter in the corporate field. But as I was a computer science graduate PGDM in system will be an added advantage to me for a high career growth and flexible work profile.

Q. What exactly were your reasons for pursuing management as your career?
A. As discussed earlier greater responsibility, High career growth and autonomy in work were the main factors that attracted me towards a management career. Along with these my interest towards the management area was the reason that I opted for a management career.

Q. Do you think money plays a great role in choosing management as a career?
A. For me it was never a factor as I genuinely believe that career option should not be bargained on the monetary terms rather it is ur interest that should be matched with ur career. The high salary and perks involved with management career is just an added advantage.

Q. Which MBA Institutes and Programmes you identified for your MBA?
A. Being a computer science graduate I decided to do MBA in IT and I had planned to go in one of the top 30 MBA institutes of India. I had several calls but was able to convert IFMR, ICFAI, Hybd and IMT, Nagpur.
