4. Interview-related Questions

Q. Date and location of Interview. Were you given the option to choose? Was the interview date fixed or rescheduled couple of times?
A. Date was 27th February 2007.
Location was Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
Yes, option was there to choose the location. The interview date was fixed.

Q. Can you tell us about the panel that interviewed you?
A. Panelist were Mr. Ramesh Puttana, Admission-in-Charge, IMSE, and a lady about whom I don't remember.

Q. How long was your interview?
A. Interview was for around ˝ hours.

Q. What was the first question? The most interesting question? The most difficult question?
A. First Question: What does your name stands for?
Most Interesting Question: How will you retain female employees in your organization?

Q. How did you prepare for the interview? While facing the panel, were you confident, did you feel prepared?
A. I prepared for the interview by writing FAQs. I was confident and I felt prepared except on quantitative grounds.

Q. Was any feedback given to you? What feedback did you receive from the panel at the end of session?
A. Feedback was not intimated to me.

Q. Did work experience help in getting the choice of your school and also in dealing with the curriculum?
A. NA (Not Applicable).

Q. Getting into and sailing through a B-school is easier for a Science Graduate than for someone from Humanities background. Your comments please.
A. It is at par opportunity for aspirants from all backgrounds.

Q. Will an MBA degree add on to your existing career plan or did you decide to switch/start a career in management?
A. Yes, the PGPM program will add value and will certainly help me in getting a job.

Q. Why did you decide to do MBA from this school?
A. I decided to do PGPM from this college as it was a new college and the course was also for one and a half year. It is more of a training program which I feel is more suitable for my personality as we get a full corporate atmosphere.

Q. Were you able to get the school of your choice or did you compromise and opted for the best option that was open/available for you?
A. I was selected in all the schools for which I gave an interview and I chose ISME.
