Background

Q. Can you tell something about yourself and your pre-MBA qualifications?
A. I am Sumit Kumar. I did my schooling from Mount Assisi School, Bhagalpur. I am a B.Com. graduate from Goenka College of Commerce, Kolkata, which is under Calcutta University. I worked as a Center Manager for Salt Lake Branch of Erudite Educational Center Pvt. Ltd. for 1 year before joining Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai.

Q. So when did you decide to go for MBA?
A. When I was in the final year of my graduation programme, I decided to go for MBA.

Q. What was your first step to start preparation for getting into the school of your choice?
A. As the first step, I started gathering information about the admission processes of various institutes and the examination patterns for those.

Q. Which MBA institutes and programs you identified for your MBA?
A. The institutes I shortlisted were: -
IIMs (Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Indore, Kozhikode, Lucknow), XLRI-Jamshedpur, XIM-Bhubaneswar, MDI-Gurgaon, S. P. Jain-Mumbai, IMT-Ghaziabad, NMIMS-Mumbai, SIBM-Pune, IIFT-Delhi, FMS-Delhi.
