2. Questions related to Pre-MBA Preparation

Q. When did you start your preparation?
A. January 2006.

Q. How many months and how many hours daily did you devote for preparation to entrance procedures?
A. From January 2006 to December 2006 I devoted, on an average, 1.5-2.0 hours on week-days and about 3-4 hours on the week-ends.

Q. Did you take up some coaching institute or you believed in self-study?
A. Took coaching from Career Launcher, Delhi.

Q. Can you tell us which are your favorite books, books that you used for preparing for entrance, books for self-development, and books for pure relaxation?
A. For preparation, I only used Career Launcher's study material, which I found exhaustive. For relaxation and self-development, I read both fiction (Chetan Bhagat creed, John Grisham, Paulo Coehlo) and non-fiction (business books like Google Story, Creation of Wealth - on tatas, etc.).

Q. What was your experience with coaching?
A. The study material provided was exhaustive and very relevant. Some faculty were simply superb, others average. However, the way the institute leveraged technology won my heart. Results of Mock Tests in which 18-20 thousand students appeared were declared by the evening of the test with thorough self-analysis and comparative analysis.

Q. What are the others books and tests which you used for your MBA preparation?
A. None other than the material provided by the coaching.

Q. What was your strongest and weakest areas while preparing for MBA coaching?
A. Strongest area was Verbal Ability, and weakest was Quant.

Q. Some tips which you used for mastering Quant, RC, etc.
A. For RC, I read voraciously. For Quant, I honestly did no work much aside of solving the complete study material given by the institute and analyzing my mock test performances.

Q. How much time did you put for MBA preparation everyday?
A. I was a fresher, hence, I had to manage my time between engineering studies and CAT preparation. I did so by designating different time slots for engineering and CAT studies. Lesser time for engineering studies and more time for CAT preparation.

Q. Which all Exams and B-schools you applied to?
A. CAT, JMET, XAT, TISS.

Q. Your present B-school and course.
A. TISS-Mumbai. M.A. in Human Resources Management & Labor Relations.

Q. What procedures your school has for admission to its MBA program?
A. Written Test, Group Discussion, Interview.

Q. What is the range of score for students who are admitted?
A. CAT Scores from 92-97 percentile.

Contd.   3. Questions related to Group Discussion / Group Exercise
