Placement 2003


 Final Placements at IIM, Kozhikode 

Placements 2003 marked the first placement process to be conducted at IIMK’s own sprawling, scenic campus. The occasion did not go unnoticed by the corporate sector as recruiters reaffirmed their faith in IIMK.

A total of 52 companies made 78 offers to the graduating batch of 65 students. The average value of the accepted offers equalled the previous year’s figure of Rs. 5.46 lakhs. The highest Indian job offer, to the tune of Rs. 15.2 lakhs, was made by Triniti Corporation (USA). The highest PPO (pre-placement offer) was made by Maveric Systems (Rs. 9.0 lakhs). 40% of the batch got placed through Laterals (higher than entry level). IT turned out to be the largest recruiter, offering around 40% of the jobs at IIMK.

Marketing: A wide range of marketing jobs was offered by FMCG, Banking and IT companies. Prominent among the companies participating in Placements 2003 were HLL, Godrej, Asian Paints, Madura Coats and Birla Management Corporation. KSA Technopak offered jobs in the retail consulting space and Bharti in the telecom domain. Pharma major Wockhardt and Eicher GoodEarth also offered marketing jobs.

Finance: A good mix of banking and financial services companies lined up to recruit graduating students. Prominent among them were GE India, UTI Bank, Kotak Mahindra, ICICI Prulife and ICICI Lombard.

Systems and Consulting: The tech consulting domain was dominated by the US based Triniti Corporation who made the highest value offers in the realm of SCM (Supply Chain Management). It was closely followed by CSC India, HCL Technologies, Tata Consultancy Services, Patni Computers, BlueStar InfoTech, Ramco, ICICI InfoTech and MindTree Consulting.

Operations & General Management: There were quite a few new faces on the campus like Lafarge, British Oxygen, Air India, Ashok Leyland, Torrent, TVS Motors and Faber Castell besides old favourites like L&T and Anand Corporate Services. Greenpeace, the world renowned NPO (non-profit organisation) participated in campus placements for the first time.
