Final Placements have commenced at IIM Bangalore around mid-March and are on full swing already as initial reports come in. The first slot of placement was slated for March 14-15, 2004, second slot is on March 16-17, 2004, third slot on March 18, 2004, and the final slot would be on March 19, 2004.

Last year, IIM B placed 211 students in 75 organisations. And if the initial placement reports are anything to go by, then its clear indication that the currently raging controversy between the IIMs and the MHRD will have no negative impact on the 209 students who are lined up to be placed this year.

On the first day of campus recruitment in IIMB, certain companies are invited before hand, based on the priority of students. So far, Five world renowned consulting groups and investment banks - including included AT Kearney, Boston Consulting Group, Capital One, Deutsche Bank and McKinsey - visited IIMB on "Slot Zero" (or Day 1) to have their pick from these 209 students. Students have always preferred these companies. So if found eligible, they will have to take a final call. This means that they will not be part of the next phase of placements.
