Placement 2006

 Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta

IIM Calcutta Witnesses Highest Indian Offer Ever Across All Campuses in Laterals

The traditionally strong recruiter perception of IIM Calcutta has again been reinforced by the success of the ongoing Laterals Placements Process 2006.
The largest laterals batch across all premier business schools attracted the crème de la crème amongst firms in India and abroad, as well as the most coveted jobs on offer.

International Offers

IIM Calcutta attracted a host of companies offering positions across the globe. Prominent international recruiters included Johnson Electric, Microsoft, Mittal Steel and SAP International Consulting Group. The number of international offers has reached a figure of 21 this time.

Strong Financial Focus

The laterals this year reinforced the image of the campus as a B-school with a financial bent with the participation of JP Morgan, ICICI Bank, ICICI Lombard and Dell Analytics among others. This is acting as a precursor to the finals where a number of new financial firms are expected to come on campus including SUN Group, the private equity major, which recruits only from IIM Calcutta.

Significant Facts

  • The number of overseas offers has seen an increase from 14 in 2005 to 21 in 2006.

  • Compared to only 39 offers accepted last year, 65 offers have already been made to the laterals batch till date with more companies flocking the campus to pick the best talent in the country.
