Challenging Profiles Hold Sway in Placement Process at SJMSOM, IIT Bombay

Giants such as TSMG, Avalon Consulting, Deloitte, ICRA IMaCS, Tholons, ECS, Mindtree Consulting and Accenture led the placements in the consulting domain this year. Business consulting, Strategic Finance, Operations and SCM Consulting were some of the
varied profiles offered this year. Almost 17% of the batch chose to take the dynamic and demanding profiles offered by the consulting domain.

Leadership Profiles

"A good leader makes a good manager." This statement was exemplified at SJMSOM, with 9% of the batch being offered the coveted leadership profiles. Bigwigs like GE, Tech Mahindra and HCL were the major recruiters in this segment. This reinforced the faith of industry in the talent and skills of SJMSOM students.

Banking & Finance

SJMSOM saw a huge influx of major banks and finance firms recruiting for various key roles, such as front-end banking, research and analysis, investment banking and trading. Top banks such as Kotak, HSBC, ICICI, Citi Group and SBI recruited from the campus. Financial firms such as JPMC, Irevna, Kotak Securities, amongst others were major recruiters from the campus.

Sales & Marketing

Diverse profiles in Sales and Marketing were offered by reputed companies like Marico, Godrej, RPG and others. Recognizing the quality of the students, even IT companies like Oracle and Patni offered challenging roles in marketing. Approximately 10% of the batch was offered profiles in this field.

Systems & IT

Systems was represented by global IT majors which included regular recruiters like Oracle, IBM, Infosys and Wipro. Recognizing the strength of the Systems Program at SJMSOM, first-time recruiters like SAP, CTS, Atos Origin and Intel also visited the campus this time. Almost 28% of the batch was offered exciting profiles in Systems and IT.
