IIM Kozhikode to conduct CAT 2012; Prof SSS Kumar to be convenor

Prof SSS Kumar of Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode has been appointed as CAT 2012 convenor. Having specialized in the area of Finance, Accounting and Control, Prof Kumar is a B.
Tech from REC Calicut and holds an MBA degree from S.V. University, Andhra Pradesh. He has also done Ph.D in the area of finance from ISM Dhanbad.
Prof Kumar joined IIMK in June 2003 after working as a lecturer with National Institute of Bank Management Pune for a period of one year (2002-03) and with ISM Dhanbad for around 5 years (1998-02). Prior to this he worked in industry for two years.
As per the sources, there shall be no changes in the pattern of paper.
CAT 2011 introduced major changes in the test pattern with traditional three sections reduced to two. Each section was allotted 70 minutes time and once finished with one section candidates could not go back to the previous section.
CAT 2011 convener was Prof. Janakiraman Moorthy of IIM Calcutta. CAT 2010 was conducted by IIM Lucknow under Prof. Himanshu Rai, while CAT 2009 was conducted by IIM Ahmedabad under Prof Satish Deodhar. 2009 was the year when CAT exam saw a facelift going online from traditional paper-pencil pattern.
