IIM Bangalore to host GMP for Strategic Management of Luxury Businesses
The programme will help participants to execute, manage portfolios, reinvent strategy and practice, and raise awareness of the globalization of luxury business.
The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) will conduct a General Management Programme for Strategic Management of Luxury Businesses to be held at the IIMB campus between September 10 and 12, 2012.
This programme will enhance understanding of luxury businesses and how to manage luxury products, with participants gaining a better appreciation of the consumers of luxury goods as well as buyer behaviour. The goal of the programme is to impart concepts relating to the value chain of the luxury brand, decision making skills and managing the profit potential of luxury for the successful management of joint ventures or franchise, supply chain, licensing and demand management.
The programme content introduces the latest trends in the luxury brand market to understand the value chain, and consumer buyer behaviour of luxury, besides how to manage the different luxury brand products, services. The programme will help participants to execute, manage portfolios, reinvent strategy and practice, and raise awareness of the globalization of luxury business.
The Programme Director of the course is Dr. S Raghunath; Professor of Corporate Strategy & Policy at IIMB. He was a Visiting Scholar at Stanford Graduate School of Business, USA. He has been writing cases and advising on luxury business in India.
