Taking Smart Decisions through Intelligent Data Analysis

Objective: The purpose of this programme is to acquaint the participants with the concept of data management and its various analysis through computer. The programme is fully case based and practical class oriented. Demonstration of various analysis tools will be done during the programme. Participants are encouraged to bring their data and they will be analysing and doing presentation during the programme itself.

• To make familiar with Rapid Analysis Technique (RAT) for managerial decision process.

• To provide a compact guide to participants regarding principles of analysis.

• To provide concepts of Data Mining Analysis Tools (DMAT) which are certainly different than usual routine analysis.

• To equip the participants with skills to perform all data analysis and conclusions independently. Special attention will be given on Data Mining (DM).

For: Business Analysts who would like to do take smart decisions through intelligent data analysis and would like to be on top of the world. Participants should bring their own problem along with data for hands on analysis & complete solutions during the programme.

Contents:

• Introduction to various computer Software for data analysis & Data Mining (DM).

• Compact guide for Univariate and Multivariate statistical analysis tools & techniques.

• Application of SPSS in data management & analysis.

• Performing Sensitivity Analysis of Results obtained by SPSS through Significance Level, Confidence Interval, Duncan’s Multiple Range Test, etc.

• Decisions involving Univariate & Multivariate techniques e.g. Multiple Regression, Factor Analysis, Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Cluster Analysis, Multi-Dimensional Scaling (MDS), Discriminate Analysis, Conjoint Analysis, etc.

• Concepts of Two-step clustering techniques which is much more powerful and sensitive than usual cluster analysis techniques. It is only available in SPSS 11.5.

• Non Parametric Analysis Techniques and application of SPSS.

• Concept of Optimal Scaling for taking decisions in situations of categorical/qualitative data e.g. CATREG, CATPCA, etc.

• Decisions through Correspondence Analysis (CA) which is very powerful than Perceptual Maps and MDS.

• Concept of Data Mining Analysis Tools and demonstration of Cases.

• Lab sessions for hand on practice of SPSS, & DM tools e.g. PolyAnalyst, SPSS Answer Tree, and IBM Intelligent Miner.

• Discussion on cases developed specially for the programme.

• Presentation by participants on analysis performed by themselves during the programme.
