Managing Information Technology Ventures

Objective: The objectives include familiarising the participants with various facets of Information Technology and the features of information based organisations. Through combination case studies, exercises, expert-led discussions and lectures, the participants will be equipped with skills to harness the power of IT in their area of working. The programme intends to equip the participants to align the business objectives of the organisation with the IT strategies. The programme will also provide insights to participants for clearly define their roles in the IT enabled businesses so as enhance their productivity and effectiveness.

Who SHOULD Participate and Who SHOULD NOT: This programme is NOT for technical executives. It is designed for the line managers and corporate strategists seeking better understanding of their role in IT administration and management. The senior level and middle level executives who use IT for assisting their business decision making will find the programme useful in gaining better insights for effective utilisation of IT tools. The programme will discuss the role of IT in strategic and tactical decision making.

Contents: New paradigms in Information Technology, Understanding IT and Business processes, frame work of linking IT to business strategy, tools and techniques for process integration, electronic commerce, knowledge management. Issues of change management on IT implementation, Enterprise solutions, IT infrastructure and e-Business. Applications of IT in decision making.
