Peter Drucker Chair's 3-Day International Conference on
"China India 2020: Shift in Global Balance"
December 14-16, 2007
At Durbar Hall, Hotel Shiv Niwas, HRH Group, Udaipur, Rajasthan, India

Previous

China has become the story of the present times. India is following suit. India is now going through a similar process, and its economy has been characterized by historically high rates of growth and increasing integration into the global economy, it is now very much on the horizon that the path China and India are following will significantly
alter the contours of world economy making it the biggest story of catalyst of shift in global balance by the year 2020. Known people call it the CHINDIA SYNDROME!!!

China Vs. India: 2020

China and India, despite their massive populations and growing importance, are quite different! Their respective economy structure, sources of growth, areas of core competency, and the ramifications each will have on world geo-polity, will essentially remain different for the world.

Today, many global business leaders believe that they must have a strategy for China and India. While China is seen as the place to produce or procure manufactured goods, India is seen as the place to procure business and IT-enabled services. In the near future, however, the discrete division of labor might not remain as clear or as relevant as it appears today, as both are trying hard and fast to poach into each other’s territory. Both China and India are increasingly being seen as burgeoning markets in their own rights although China is far ahead of India in attracting investments from abroad.

After a long chill in relationships, China and India are developing a strong economic relationship with one another. Trade and investments in both countries are booming potentially creating competitive challenges and opportunities for global companies, specially of the western world. This relationship will contribute to the rise of new global companies based in China and India.
