Objectives: Analytics focuses on discovering knowledge from various data repositories, both internal and external, to improve business processes and also to support better decision making. Statistics and Data mining techniques are extensively used as tool kits for business analytics.
In recent years with the emergence of a keenly competitive business environment and highly demanding customers, improving business processes, making accurate forecasting, understanding customers behaviour for retention and market penetration are becoming all the more important. Business analytics are now indispensable for making all these happen.

The objective of this programme is to equip the participants with the knowledge of advanced analytical techniques in statistics and data mining. The techniques discussed would be supplemented by case studies, examples and adequate number of hands on sessions so that participants can get a feel for the applications especially its use in fine tuning the business goals and enhance decision making with informed choices.

For: For practitioners, managers, and decision makers who use advanced analytics. The programme may also be of interest to participants from analytics organizations to better understand the underlying concepts of these advanced techniques.

  • Econometric forecasting and time series forecasting( including ARCH and GARCH)and agent based forecasting

  • Glimpses of artificial intelligence and artificial neural networks in business: Role of heuristic search techniques

  • Techniques for data dimension reduction and data segmentation

  • Handling missing data

  • Regression trees

  • Bayesian belief networks
