Objectives: Many business organizations frequently use decision modeling to help solve complex problems. Business decision making techniques have been applied successfully to an increasing wide variety of
complex problems in business, government, health care, education, public transport, financial optimization and many other areas. The objective of this focused program is help participants in developing skills for modeling, analysis, and application of the tools, techniques, and methods of analysis of modern managerial decision making problems for business. Complex problems in all of the functional areas of management, including finance, marketing, operations, and human resources, are translated into decision models. Therefore, emphasis of this program will be on the art of analytical model building.

This programme also provides the hands-on experience of the process of building spreadsheet models in Microsoft Excel from the decision models. Skills developed here center on the effective use of the many powerful features of Excel and other modeling softwares.

For: This programme will be of great interest to you if you are senior and middle management executive involved in modeling and analysis of various business decision making environment.

Contents:

  • Developing model formulation skills for complex business problems.

  • Statistical decision making techniques for predicting future trends and future business decision making environment using time series and regression models.

  • Decision making skills for the optimization of scarce resources for maximum profit or minimum cost in areas such as Transportation and Logistics, financial services industry, etc.

  • Designing and analysis of risk management techniques using decision trees for decision making under uncertain and risky business environment.

  • Decision making techniques for managing congested service systems. Topics include Queueing systems, scheduling.

  • Computer tutorials on various decision making and optimization packages such as Microsoft Excel, LINGO, @Risk, MATLAB to make participants equip with applicability of the above modeling packages for business problems.
