Objectives:

  • Hotistically understand the basics of Direct & Indirect taxation and their inter-connection

  • Getting an overview of major Direct & Indirect tax laws and their impact on business decisions

  • Understand major provisions of various Taxation laws including rules and procedures

  • Identify complicated areas under different type of taxes

  • Issues relating to implementation of VAT / Service Tax / DTAA / Transfer Pricing / FBT, etc.

  • Clarifying queries and current issues on rules, regulations and procedures

    For: Executives handling Finance, Taxation, Imports, Exports, Costing, Logistics, Inventory, Production Planning, Marketing.

    Contents:

  • Corporate Taxation: Problem areas & Corporate Income Tax, MAT issues, FBT issues, Dividend Tax, With-holding Tax, DTAA, Transfer Pricing, Tax Breaks / Incentive etc.

  • Customs Duty: Foreign Trade Policy & Procedures, Update of Customs Law, Tariff & Procedures, FEMA and Exchange Control, Export-oriented schemes, incentives and procedures, Customs valuation issues

  • Central Excise / Cenvat: Important provisions of Central Excise / CENVAT and changes, ‘Transaction’ valuation laws and rules, MRP, Cenvat / Modvat and Job work, Self-assessment procedures, Despatch of duty paid goods, handling of day-to-day problems

  • Service Tax: Update of taxable services, registration procedures, taxable turnover, service tax credit rules (cenvat) exemption, assessment, records and returns, notification and case laws, handling indivisible contracts (such as LSTK), service tax vs. sales tax and cross credit of Cenvat issues

  • Sales Tax & VAT: Important provision relating to CST / GST / VAT, sales tax on works contracts, lease, annual maintenance contract, LSTK, Hire, etc., permissible deductions, taxable turnover, assessment, Records and Returns, Amendments to CST Act regarding multi-point tax on declared goods, Deemed inter-state sales tax, VAT implication issues and procedures
