A hoax telephone call about a bomb being planted in the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) on Thursday created panic among the staff and the students. The building was soon evacuated of staff and students when later it was found that the call was a prank by some mischievous unidentified person.

The call was received at the IIM B reception at 12 noon which soon turned the staff into panic mode leading the building to be evacuated in no time. It is vacation time going on thus there was very little staff and few students on campus.

After a thorough search by bomb disposal squad and sniffer dogs it was revealed that someone has played a prank, police said.  As per police investigations the call was made from a coin phone in a condiments shop in J P Nagar. The caller is yet to be traced.
