The Sun of IIM Indore shall never set, this was the vision propounded by the esteemed director of IIM Indore, Prof. N Ravichandran on the red letter occasion of 66th Independence Day.

He cited the instances of campuses in Mumbai and Dubai, with aspirations of hosting the institutes flag in China and Eastern Europe, to be just the keystone of IIM Is dream of achieving a global presence.

Amongst the pearls of wisdom delivered by him, one of the highlights was that Nation building can only transpire into fruition through individual building. He urged one and all to believe in actions, not words and aspire to achieve excellence. In continuation, he stressed on the need for Absolute excellence, and not relative. The departure from celebrating others failures to others success was also touched upon by him, and so was the heightened need for collective leadership.

The celebrations, which had commenced with the customary flag hosting, terminated with a marquee event: The Screening of Ek Tha Tiger in the new Auditorium, which was premiered exclusively for the denizens of Planet I (having released on the same day). It received a thunderous response and was witnessed by a jam packed Auditorium, making the screening a grand success.

Pragat-I, the social sensitivity cell of IIM Indore coordinated two activities on this occasion. First was a tree Plantation drive in the New Auditorium complex inaugurated by the Director, which saw close to 300 saplings, planted by staff and participants. Next up was the visit to the EGS School in proximity, which the club supports. The visit pertained to inculcating a sense of patriotism in young minds through movies and videos as well as spreading happiness through various games, sweets and healthy interaction. Overall, the celebrations on campus reverberated the spirit of patriotism and belongingness to the nation as the participants and the staff commemorated the independence struggle with full rigor.
