IIM Raipur and IICA deliberate to introduce new curricula

Professors of Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), Ministry of Corporate affairs, visited Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur on 24th December 2013 for academic committee meeting..

This meeting was chaired by Prof. B. S. Sahay, Director IIM Raipur and Mr. Ashok Chakravarty, Chief Sustainability Officer, National Foundation for CSR. This meeting was held as a part of the MOU signed between IIM Raipur and IICA on 23rd October 2013, for strengthening possibility of research in inter-disciplinary areas. During the meeting heavy deliberations took place between the faculty of the two institutions. These deliberations focused on introduction of new course curricula and design of new course curricula keeping in mind the needs of the industry. Two new proposals were put forth during the meeting: First, to provide for a foolproof certificate in a two tier process for the industry consortia. Second, to establish a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) based NGO hub.

This meeting between the two prestigious institutes would facilitate various academic capacity building, research and consultancy activities. This effort would prove fruitful to the people from the industry interested in pursuing higher education in management. Visiting delegates of IICA happily expressed their support and conveyed their best wishes for the academic collaboration between IICA and IIM Raipur.
