IMI New Delhi concludes kritva

The most awaited fest of the year ‘kritva’ – the annual management cum cultural fest was held in IMI. Kritva literally means ‘to do’, in this fest limits of students are challenged and conformity is considered a sin.

It was a 60 hour fest with one star night, Biggest B-school quiz, along with a number of management and cultural games where students from all the reputed Bschools of India came to compete. This year’s theme was ‘freedom’ and students were challenged to come and break free!!


Every year all the clubs and committees of IMI united for one big platform to conduct a lot of competitions and events.


The inauguration was done on 2nd Nov at around 8 p.m. by Mr. S.Y. Siddiqui (Managing Executive Officer-Administration at Maruti Suzuki India Limited) and Mr. Satish K Singh (Editor, Zee News), along with Padma Shri Dr. Pritam Singh, our honorable Director General Mr.Preetam Singh. The chief guests and director shared few words regarding management, leadership in corporate world and answered few queries of the students. This was followed by a dance performance by children of the NGO Salam Balak Trust.IMI has various clubs and committees like Finalyze (finance club), Promeathean (marketing club), Human Edge (HR club), EconIMI (economics club), Jagriti (social cell), operations club, all of these conducted competitions under the banner of Kritva for three days at inter Bschool level and provided ample opportunities for MBA students to win prizes.

On the first day the Arts club Goonj came up with inter college dramatics competition. On the second day students were even more enthusiastic, the competitions started with ‘Gladius –a multistage competition’ by HR club at 9a.m. in morning followed by ‘Viruddh’ an extempore contest by admission committee. Promeathean presented ‘Excalibur’ while finalyze came up with ‘Global feneratus’ which checked the potential of students in the field of marketing and finance skills. The fest was not just confined to campus but also there were events held online by Economics club like ‘Animoto- movie making competition’, ‘treasure O mania- the treasure hunt’ and ‘Bulls eye- stock trading’, also online quizzes like online trivia, filmy chakkar and photography competition etc were also held. Lanthrash a gaming event was also held for gaming freaks.


However Thursday 3rd November night was most awaited because of the concert by Euphoria which was held in the amphitheatre of the campus. It was even more important for Euphoria because their new album ‘ITEM’ was launched in the concert by universal music. The amphitheatre was crowded, students were enthusiastic to see Palash Sen the lead singer of the band. The concert started with the song ‘item’ from their new album, as soon as he came on the stage, youth came forward to cheer him up and enjoy the songs. The stage was soon covered with young students all around, who were singing along with Palash and danced on his songs. Faculty also came to join the students and enjoyed the night. The event was very well managed and organized.


On the last day, there were again a number of events held by different clubs. At around 6:00 p.m. the flagship event of Krtiva Quiz Inc. Powered by Mr. Avinash Mudaliar, who is one of India’s leading quizmasters, and the former Secretary of the Karnataka Quiz Association (KQA) was the center of attraction on last day. Prizes worth Rs.50000/- and goodies were won by students in this event.
