Real Life Learning: SPJIMR Students visit factories to learn nuances of management

Students of SPJIMR visited Parle factory at Ville Parle, Mumbai and Tata Motors factory at Pimpri, Pune to experience and understand the nuances of the management decisions and their relation with the various shop-floor operations..


Mr. Ram Hudlikar of TATA Motors talked to a batch of 30 students accompanied by Dr. R.K Pattnaik about the execution of various processes at the shop-floor. The students were shown the manufacturing of Tata Indica, Tata Safari and various Tata trucks. Another batch of 30 students accompanied by Dr Deepa Ray was taken to the manufacturing unit of Parle at Ville Parle, Mumbai. They were shown the manufacturing and packaging facility of Parle-G biscuits and confectionary.


The Industry Integration committee at SPJIMR, mentored by Prof Jiban Mukhopadhyay and Dr Indu Niranjan, forms a part of the ADMAP (Assessment and Development of Managerial and Administrative Potential) Program at SPJIMR. . The committee organizes Industry visits, CEO lectures, Industry related events and live projects for the batch. ADMAP is one of the unique pedagogic initiatives taken at SPJIMR which aims at promoting learning by doing. The Program is like an experiential laboratory where students get to work in such committees with their peer group to hone their leadership potential and administrative capabilities.
