Student activity at Great lakes | The Stage is Set

The Great Lakers engage themselves in various activities throughout the year. Students have been actively participating and organising in the academic as well as cultural events at Great Lakes.

The events encompass the various spheres of management education, corporate leadership, cultural event, international conference and study tour for students.


1- L’attitude 13° 05 is the flagship event of the institute where teams from B-Schools throughout the country descend down to Great Lakes. The event started in the year 2007 with a different theme every year. The theme for 2010 latitude 13° 05 was ‘Mergers & Acquisitions.’ The festival was a potpourri of events and competitions for both students and people from the industry. Events encompassing various spheres of management education such as marketing, finance, operations, strategy and HR marked the occasion.


2- Great Lakes organize another event known as SWIM (Successful Women in Management). SWIM is an event organized by Great Lakes to bring together the best women leaders from the corporate world, academics and the social sector to inspire students and facilitate learning. Started in the year 2005, it is now an annual event. The objective of the event is to highlight the role of women in various realms of work and learn from their experience the art of being successful.


3- Sanghamitra is the bi-annual cultural event of Great Lakes Institute of Management, which started in the year 2007.This festival, is all about having fun with friends.


4- Great Lakes took the initiative to start the HR conclave in the year 2008. It attempted to bring to the fore the leaders and unravel the perceived mystique behind excellent Human Capital Management.


5- The Great Lakes International Entrepreneurship Conference encourages all ideas about inspiring, nurturing, supporting and ultimately incubating the Entrepreneurship in India and abroad. This involves the innovations, idea prototyping and eco-system creation for the budding entrepreneurs, which may help them to attain their goals easier and faster. The conference encompasses the outlook of academicians and industrialists to present pros and cons of the present Indian Entrepreneurship platform.


Apart from these, the students at Great Lakes also do active participation in the study tour of around 7 days to Singapore and Malaysia. Other event, which takes place in Great Lakes, is Nirman 2010. It provides a unique platform to make your dreams come true. It provides an opportunity to cultivate a business model out of your great idea and B-plan.
