The Week B-School Ranking 2012: New IIMs missing from Top 25, ICFAI, KJ Somaiya ranked above NITIE

THE WEEKHansa Research Best Courses & Colleges Survey 2012 has revealed Indias best B-schools with three of the leading Indian Institutes of Management taking top 3 ranks. Topper of all rankings, IIM Ahmedabad took number one position yet again, followed by IIM Calcutta and IIM Bangalore at number 2 and 3.

 

XLRI Jamshedpur took the fourth spot beating IIM Lucknow and IIM Indore at number 5 and 6 positions. IIM Kozhikode growing fast on popularity index took the 8th spot after FMS Delhi at number 7.

 

Leading management colleges in MumbaiSP Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR), Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS) and Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies secured 9th, 10th and 11th spot in the rankings followed by MDI Gurgaon at 12th and SCMHRD Pune at number 13.

 

The surprise element in the ranking is ICFAI Hyderabad and K J Somaiya Mumbai scoring above National Institute of Industrial Engineering, Mumbai which is ranked 23.

 

None of the newly started IIMs is ranked in the top 25 list of business schools. International Management Institute (IMI) Delhi, a leading b-school in Delhi, is ranked 41 in the rankings.

 

The rankings are based on a survey which was conducted from January till March. A total of 3,234 personal interviews with educational experts, aspiring students and current students across 20 cities were conducted. The field team of The Week conducted 75 in-depth interviews and collected 114 valid web-based responses from students.
