The Chief Guest, Shri C. K. Ranganathan, Chairman and Managing director, CavinKare Private Ltd., in his convocation address admired the Institutes reputation, which has got a recognized brand name throughout the country. He encouraged the students to take up entreprenuership. His speech also brought out the various facets an entrepreneur must concentrate on when dealing with viz., Customers, Employees, Suppliers, Bankers, Government and Shareholders.

He emphasized on the need for innovation and differentiation and he recalled Jack Trout's quote "If you do not differentiate... you die" and added that "Customers always look for something new; be innovative and differentiate". Also any company that focuses on profits rather than processes would fail abysmally in the long run. It is this value system that has taken CavinKare towards the path of success. He emphasized the necessity to be knowledgeable, in order to cope up with the ever-changing market trend; the best possible way is avid reading. Though not a management graduate, voracious reading helped him to be in par with the leaders. He cautioned the upcoming managers of India Inc. to pay taxes to make profits and that "if you evade tax, you will not grow".
