The final point upon which he dwelt was about the gender based tax regime of the current budget and pointed by way of example that with the abolition of Standard deduction and Sec 88, the losses were far more than the gains that would arise from this differential exemption limit. Mr. Sabath ended on the humorous note by pointing out the discrepancy of the proposed exemption of interest on educational loan by giving a very relevant example.

After this, the floor was thrown open to questions. A majority of questions were about the tax on withdrawal. Some questions were also on subsidies and the future role of agriculture. The panel managed to most effectively clarify these doubts.

The entire exercise was a huge success as it helped clarify a lot of questions that were lingering within the minds of the audience, which comprised of several members from the corporate world as well as members of the Press and students.
