The Sixth Annual Convocation Held at IIM Indore

Previous

The institute has also forged an Exchange program with EM Lyon, a leading business school in France. The first exchange program is scheduled to take place later this year. In this era of the global village these relationships are considered extremely important and we are confident that this is the first of many.

A number of programs on self-renewal and development were undertaken as well. The director also outlined the achievements of the participants and his vision for the institute.

Chief Guest - Mr. A. K. Purwar's Speech

The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. A. K. Purwar, Chairman, State Bank of India. In an inspiring speech replete with allegory and encouragement, he interestingly refrained from congratulating the outgoing class!

He did so as he felt that the new crop of alumni was at the beginning of a journey. The time was not apt for congratulations but ripe for the "flagging of vital issues". He encouraged the young men and women to go forth and take on the world. While doing so it was imperative not to compromise on values and to hold one's head high with pride - pride in our culture and country both. Mr. Purwar also outlined another important facet of a leader and that was the ability or rather the courage to fail.

He concluded with one more challenge, that of exhorting the outgoing class to channelize their newly gained expertise towards modernising rural India.

The Class of 2005

The outgoing class has done us proud over the year with achievements in different spheres. Be it management games, live projects, or just pure initiative, they have done it all. Initiative exhibited in the first business magazine across all the B-Schools that was released in August last year. I-Magazine, as it is called, is the first across the b-school campuses and is now self sustaining within its first year of existence.
