BIM, Trichy Wins Regional Round of TATA Crucible Quiz'06

Bharthidasan Institute of Management, Trichy won the regional round of TATA CRUCIBLE QUIZ 06 held at Chennai on 8th February. The winning team of S. Sathyaseelan and N. Muthupalaniappan emerged winners from a total of 104 teams, which participated in the qualifying rounds held earlier in the day.

A total of six teams qualified for the finals of this regional round including 2 teams from BIM, 2 from IIT Chennai and one each from IFMR and GLIM. The team from BIM will now compete in the all India final which will have eight other teams competing on the 26th of Feb in Mumbai that will be shown on NDTV Profit.

The winners walked away with prize money of Rs. 60,000 and a mobile handset from TATA Indicom plus air tickets for the finals to be held in Mumbai. It was a sweet revenge over runners-up IIT Chennai who won this in 2005 and BIM were runners-up. They will now compete in the finals with the winners of the other 7 regional rounds for prize money of Rs. 2 lakh. The students were well-grilled in the final round, but it was the team from BIM which held on to their nerves and stole the show in front of a large audience cheering them.
