NITIE was founded in 1963 by GOI with assistance of UNDP (United Nation's Development Program) & ILO (International Labours' Organisation). Since then, NITIE has been leading on the frontiers - Industrial Engineering and Management - providing the industry talented engineers equipped with paraphernalia to take on industrial problems. Located in picturesque surrounding of Vihar and Powai Lakes with lush greenery, NITIE is ideal for perusing academic excellence.

Industrial Engineering Program (PGDIE) is the flagship program by NITIE, and is one of the very few programs, which have enjoyed corporate glory for over three decades. The program comprises of 37 courses, touching upon various facets of Management, which are covered in 18 months. Summer and Winter projects spanning over six months are included to buttress problem-solving abilities in general, strong acumen in specific areas in particular.
