Grab leadership opportunities, Adi Godrej advises students of Great Lakes Institute of Management

Chennai, April 27, 2006: "Grab leadership opportunities to propel India into a meaningful and purposeful future," Mr. Adi Godrej, Chairman, Godrej Group, advised the second batch of students from Great Lakes Institute of Management, The Junior Pioneers, who graduated here today. All the 130 Students of the full-time MBA Programme received their diplomas from Mr. Adi Godrej at a glittering function here today.

In his convocation address to the students, Mr. Godrej urged the outgoing batch of students to go for leadership by taking tough decisions which may not be popular, taking big chances, playing always to win but without playing dirty, and dare to have mighty goals. He also advised them to enjoy their vocation if they wanted to succeed.

This year's campus recruitments at Great Lakes saw representation from all sectors of industries and business including, automobiles, FMCG, peripherals and software companies. The major corporate who were a part of this year in recruitments were Cognizant Technology, Infosys, Wipro, Satyam & TVS Motors. The average salary offered was Rs. 7.2 lakhs.

Congratulating the students, Dr. Bala V. Balachandran, Founder & Honorary Dean of the Institute, said, "These Junior Pioneers have done Great Lakes Institute proud. They have pioneered the brand really well during their stay at Great Lakes Institute of Management. We hope they will serve the corporate who have recruited them well and justify the trust and cooperation extended by them in our endeavour to encourage industry participation in management education."

Addressing the Convocation, Mr. Adi Godrej, Chairman, The Godrej Group, said, "The more I hear about the wonderful achievement of Great Lakes Institute of Management, the more I am impressed. I am also very pleased that the institute has also started an Executive MBA program. I wish Great Lakes continued success and an outstanding futiure. My heartiest congratulations to Dr. Bala V. Balachandran and his dedicated colleagues."

The occasion was also graced with the presence of Mr. K. B. Chandra Sekar, Chairman & CEO, Jam Cracker Inc, USA.
