XIMB to Host International Conference on "Entrepreneurship & Innovation: Agenda for 21st Century"

Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, is organizing an International Conference on "Entrepreneurship and Innovation: Agenda for the 21st Century", from 12th to 14th of January 2007. This conference is co-sponsored by the Center for Closely Held Firms at the Sellinger School of Business and Management, Loyola College in Maryland, USA.

Entrepreneurship drives innovation and economic growth. It enables new ideas, novel approaches, and innovative technologies to reach the marketplace. The conference caters to the needs of aspiring entrepreneurs, corporate venture officers, and persons who would like to develop or strengthen a climate of entrepreneurship in their corporations, universities, and regions.

The objective of the conference is to bridge the gap between theory and practice in entrepreneurship and to highlight the strategic implications of recent research and experience. The conference also aims at engaging and sharing these experiences on an international scale, recognizing that entrepreneurs now operate on global stage. The themes to be addressed in the conference are: -

The three day conference also includes keynote addresses by Mr. Suhas Gopinath, CEO and President, Globals Inc. Mr. Suhas Gopinath holds the distinction of being the world's youngest CEO at the age of 14. Joseph Sigelman, Co-President, OfficeTiger, Mr. Raphael V. Parambi, CEO of Muscat Finance Company, Rashmi Bansal, Founder-Editor of JAM, and leading economist Dr. Atanu Dey.

The conference would also present an opportunity for budding entrepreneurs to express themselves in the form of a Business Plan Contest - IncuBUZz. The Business Plan Contest is part of the International Conference on "Entrepreneurship and Innovation: Agenda for the 21st Century". The development of the Business Plan will test the ability of the team to understand business environment and deliver practical solutions to benefit from an opportunity. The team would have to develop an India centric business plan considering the current situation prevailing in the country. The plan would primarily highlight a profitable business opportunity in the country.
