XIMB Celebrates 16th Convocation, Awards Degrees to 303 Students

The Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, celebrated its Sixteenth Convocation to award degrees to 303 students this year, which is the largest number of students graduated together from the institute in a year. There were 117 students from PGDBM, 52 students from PGDRM, 34 students from Ex-PGP and 100 students of PGCBM who received their graduation certificate.

21 students received gold medals for the academic excellence awards for the outstanding performance in different disciplines. Yadav Rai Arora was conferred gold medal for the best all rounder award.

During this occasion, Fr. E. Abraham, Director, XIMB, in his valedictory speech, gave an important lesson to the graduating students. "As you go out of this institute, you should learn to adapt in different circumstances. Different people behave differently to the external environment like the treatment of carrot, egg and coffee to the boiling water. Carrot which looks firm but softens after boiling, egg which appears fragile becomes hardened after boiling, and coffee which changes colour of the boiling water. It depends on you, how you behave in the corporate world - like carrot, egg or coffee." During this occasion, Fr. Abraham shared 'Director's Report' recalling the activities, engagements and achievements of the faculty, students and administration in the last one year.

Introducing Subhodh Bhargava, Chairman of Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited and Wartsila India Limited, Rajive Kaul, Chairman, Board of Governors of XIMB, termed him as an exceptional individual to work who has a clear vision and constantly delivers results on any given tasks.
