MICA to Launch Website for its Annual Theatre Fest "Sankalp"

Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA) is proud to announce it's annual tribute to the magic of theatre - "SANKALP", a pledge born out of spirited minds and performed inside the august premises of Natrani Theatre in the presence of ardent theatre patrons, for the past nine years.

With the addition of new chapters, the celebrations begin on September 1st, with a grand launch of the SANKALP website, followed by an engrossing Panel Discussion that would be chaired by eminent theatre personalities and thought leaders, and moderated by the institute director, Prof. Atul Tandon. The evening will be concluded by a modern comic play by Ed Monk, a famous playwright in this genre.

In the same month, three street plays, each based on a respective theme of social relevance, would be performed in villages around Ahmedabad, alongside a design contest being conducted across prominent colleges of the city.

October shall see a plethora of students from all over exhibiting their sterling performances in a theatre competition held during "MICANVAS", the annual fest of MICA. Following this, a Theatre Workshop is proposed to be conducted in the month of November, where in the involvement of an eminent theatre director is envisioned.

The event-year will be concluded in November with the much awaited annual play production, a showcase of creativity, talent and individual brilliance. The celebrations will last for three nights in Ahmedabad and will come to an end with two more grand performances in Mumbai.
