First Issue oF MICA Communications Review Released

Ahmedabad-based Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad, released the first issue of it's student-managed research publication, MICA Communications Review (MCR).

The MCR serves as a platform for the MICA community to present research undertaken in the course of academic pursuits or for participation at national-level competitions like paper writing, case study analyses, etc., by students of the institute and other original research work, making use of the resources that MICA provides - Media Labs, Knowledge Exchange and Information Centre (KEIC) and a Digital Communications Centre. It also aims to serve as a platform for other business school students who wish to publish worthy research work or original thought as well as opinions of industry professionals.

This Marketing Communications focussed initiative is meant to serve students and marketing professionals seeking relevant analysis and propositions specifically in the field of Branding, Media and Rural Research.

The first issue, apart from being distributed to the entire student community, is also being mailed to corporate professionals associated with MICA, 110 peer institutes, 300 Alumni and academicians and industry associated with MICA. The issue will also be made shortly available in the electronic format on the MICA website, www.mica-india.net. In addition to this, a website exclusively for the MCR will be operational by the end of October.

The inaugural issue consists of a case study, a thesis abstract of a Strategic Brand Management Model, Marketing of Luxury Brands and A Model for Pricing of Ad Spots on Television, a Study on the Effectiveness of Rural Radio in Rural Bikaner. There is also contribution by faculty member Prof. Dwarika Uniyal Prasad, dealing with Retailing and Point-of-Purchase Impact on Shopper's Behaviour.

The next issue of the journal is slated to be published during the final week of October.
