About the Event

Every good business thrives on two factors - innovative ideas and a robust business model. Cognizant's "Board Room - Smart Business Plan Contest 2007" is one such opportunity for management graduates across B-schools in the Asia-Pacific region to come

up with new business avenues for Cognizant. Be it related to opening a new development center, a new geography for business, venturing into a new service vertical or horizontal, or a new service offering, Cognizant's "Board Room - Smart Business Plan Contest" is a unique opportunity for budding management students to let their creative juices flow and give us a comprehensive business plan on what our next move should be.

Cognizant will seriously consider incubating the winning idea within the organization by setting up a core team. The winning team will have the option of being part of this initiative. The contest is structured in four phases to help teams develop their plans in both a collaborative and competitive environment. The four phases of the contest are as follows: -

Phase I - Registration: In order to compete in the Smart Business Plan Contest, teams need to register on www.cognizant.com

Phase II - Executive Summary: Allows teams to explore a variety of ideas and submit a short summary of their business venture for Cognizant.

Phase III - Semifinals: Top 20 teams in Phase II will advance to the contest's semi-finals. Each team will be mentored by a Cognizant Manager and will submit a detailed business plan for evaluation by the judges.

Phase IV - Finals: The Top 7 teams short-listed at the end of Phase III will advance to the contest finals where they present their idea to the Senior Management of Cognizant to win a variety of prizes.

Prizes

1st Prize: INR 200,000/-
2nd Prize: INR 100,000/-

Requirements for Teams

A team

Should consist of final year MBA students only

May consist of a minimum of three and a maximum of four members

Need not belong to the same B-school

Can have the same student participating in up to two teams
