MICA's 'Sankalp' Spreads Social Message through Plays

Sankalp, the theatre group of the Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA), staged two plays with a social message here on Sunday, as a curtain-raiser to the annual theatre play which will be held in early December.

Running to a packed audience at the famous Karnavati Club, the two plays, "Kya Karoge Munna?" and "Aaj ki Taaza Khabar", addresses the issues of children's upbringing and how today's media represents news, respectively. An audience of close to 400, consisting mainly of members of the club, was appreciative of the performance.

Following the play, director Spandan Mishra, gave the vote of thanks. "Today, there are many problems that the world faces. What we from Sankalp tried to do today was address these issues in a humorous manner. For we feel that theatre is more than just about make-up and delivering lines on stage - it's also about getting a message through to the audience," said Spandan on the play and it's relevance. He also took a moment to thank the sponsors Adit Microsys, online partner of Sankalp, and Karnavati Club, the Event Partner for their support and belief in Sankalp.
