IIM Kozhikode to Organize Annual IT Management Summit 'AIMS 2007'
Theme: "The New Frontiers of Technology: Consumer Internet, Wireless & Mobile"
On November 17-18, 2007

The two most important decisions of one's life - your career and your life-partner - are increasingly being made online. AIMS 2007, the Annual IT Management Summit of IIM Kozhikode, will focus on the pervasiveness of the Internet and the effect it has on our everyday lives. The summit will be held on November 17-18, 2007 at the IIMK campus.

The theme this year is "The New Frontiers of Technology: Consumer Internet, Wireless and Mobile". AIMS 2007 is India's largest student-driven IT summit and brings together the IT industry, government officials and students for two days of intense discussions and brain-storming.

Going beyond a traditional summit, AIMS 2007 in association with Calicut IT Initiative (CITI), a professional citizens' initiative, launches 'ConnectCalicut', a round-table discussion where decision-makers from major IT companies, the Kerala Government and infrastructure developers including the Aditya Birla Group will converge. ConnectCalicut will set the stage for high-level discussions on developing Calicut as an IT destination. The IT and industry secretaries of Kerala, and the District Collector of Calicut will grace the occasion. IIMK has been at the fore-front of this initiative with students helping the IT ministry draft an IT Policy and developing a strategy plan to attract software companies to Calicut.

Speakers at AIMS 2007

The Speakers at AIMS 2007 are from a mixture of start-ups and global giants. They include Mr. Jaspreet Bindra, the Country Head of MSN India, Mr. Ananth Krishnan, VP & CTO of TCS, Mr. Lil Mohan, the MD of the WiMax Divison at Intel, Mr. Romal Shetty, who heads KPMG's Telecom Division, and Mr. Sandeep Shrivastav, the Director of Search at Yahoo! India.

Apart from this, 'BrainStorm', a panel discussion on 'A Nation Online: How the Internet is Changing our Everyday Lives', will feature the CEO of Bharat Matrimony, Mr. Murugavel Janakiraman, the Co-Promoter and COO of Naukri.com, Mr. Hitesh Oberoi, and Mr. Manoj Gupta, VP of Nexus India Capital Partners, a venture capital firm. The discussion will be moderated by star-blogger and Founder-Director of f5ive Technologies, Mr. Kiruba Shankar.

Besides this, Cypress Semiconductors and SAP Labs will conduct in-depth workshops as part of AIMS 2007.
