About Jigyasa

Jigyasa, a National Level Paper Presentation Contest and the flagship event of the Department of Management Studies at IIT Roorkee, has evolved along with the department since its very inception. Jigyasa 2008, a quest for knowledge, is an endeavor to build a
centre stage for sharing knowledge and learning among various academic institutions across India. The participants form a rich mix of graduate and post-graduate students from leading educational institutes. In the past, Jigyasa has turned the spotlights on emerging topics such as Knowledge Management, M-Commerce, Innovation, Emerging Technologies, Globalization and Digital Inclusion. Traditionally, Jigyasa has been endorsed by prestigious organizations like TCS, BHEL, DSIR, NPC, etc.

Theme of Jigyasa 2008

The aim of Jigyasa is to explore and understand various perspectives and ideas in order to get a broad insight into different aspects of knowledge. The theme of Jigyasa 2008 is 'Government - Industry - Academia Collaboration Model'. This model is expected to be a well-researched model. Following guidelines may please be noted: -

  • Conceptualization of the model

  • Explanation of different components of the model

  • Details of collaborative linkages

  • SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis of the model

  • Roadmap for implementation of the model

  • Evaluation parameters

  • Underlying assumptions of the model

  • Collaboration Model could be region/sector specific

  • Use facts and figures to build model

  • Use relevant examples

  • Quote reference(s) and source(s) of information

    Rules & Regulations

  • Only College / University students can participate.

  • One entry will consist of not more than two persons. No entrant can be a part of more than one team.

  • There is no limitation on the number of teams from an institute at any stage of the competition.

  • All entries should be original and certified to that effect.
