IMI-Delhi Organizes Guest Lecture by Eminent Industry Representatives on "HR Vs IR: What to Opt?"

Previous

Mr. Rajeev Kapoor laid emphasis on the vast role of IR manager in any industry. He stressed that to have a shift effectively from HRM to HRD, it will have to go via IR. He said 'Shop Floor' is the real place from where the action is governed. A spirit to
learn new things, to develop the fire-fighting attitude gets chiseled out there only.

To carry forward on the same line of thought, Mr. Kishore Das conducted a small role play to depict the fact that be it HR or IR, the issues are of humans only and need same kind of soft-skills to deal with them.

All the speakers were unanimous in their view that there is a certain overlap between HR and IR and to gain complete experience, working in industry as an IR Manager is a must.

Student in the audience got an opportunity to interact with the distinguished guests and get their queries answered. The session succeeded in attaining its objective of doing some value addition to the upcoming bunch of managers. It also influenced the students' outlook towards the topic and helped them redefine it as, "HR + IR" instead of "HR Vs IR".

Concluded.
