IIM Indore Completes 12 Glorious Years

Previous

From tiny-tots to octogenarians, the event captured the imagination of the masses and everyone from school kids to the sports cadre of the army turned up. Students from over 55 institutions were out in full force as were the corporate crowd.

The first prize of a Honda Stunner was won by Mr. Vijay Yadav who clocked 38 minutes in the 10.0 Km. run. In the female category Ms. Smita walked away with the honours. There were prizes galore for the other participants too including a Compaq Presario Laptop, an LCD TV, mobile phones and T-shirts. More than 800 participants were also awarded certificates in different categories. The event would not have been possible without the support of the sponsors, the student community of Indore and the 100 NCC cadets who volunteered to help out. Participants spoke out about the need for re-affirming the commitment to peace and expressed solidarity with the event.

  • A social portal by a student www.unite4action.com is another initiative in direction of trend of technology being harnessed in the service of society. It was inaugurated on August 15th by Director of IIM Indore immediately after flag-hoisting ceremony.

This website tries to bridge the resource gap in social sector, i.e., those professionals and students who feel like contributing to society, but don't know from where to start. This endeavour seeks to bring such socially sensitive people and NGOs on one platform so that they can reach each other. One can contribute according to his own capacity, interest and limitation, i.e., one can opt for any activity ranging from participating in forums to week-end consultancy to bearing water cannons, if one desires so.

    Concluded.
