First Year MDI Student Achieves Unprecedented Feat, Publishes Book While at B-school

'A Sunny Shady Life', a book by the debut novelist Sachinn Garg, an MBA student at Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon, has been released recently.

The achievement is not just unprecedented for a ManDevian but unprecedented in B-school history of the county. This 22-year-old is an achiever of a different kind for a first year B-school student and the audience of his achievement transcends the walls of B-schools and reaches a huge chunk of Indian youth. He is the author of 'A Sunny Shady Life', a novel which is now on stands. It has been published by Srishti Publications and is being sold at Rs. 100/-.

The book is getting astoundingly great response from everywhere. To enlist a few, Oxford Book Store has placed it in the Top Ten list for the month and some bloggers has called it the best campus novel by far. The author, who has been working on it for one and a half years, is elated at the response, "I was hoping the response will be good but didn't expect it to be so good."

The student community at MDI has extended great support to him. When the Students Council was looking for a souvenir for the outgoing class of 2009, they could not think of a better gift and decided to present one copy to every student.

The book is essentially about the curiosity, the randomness, the entropy of highest order which a young mind goes through. The book is about a theory ("A theory of Intelligence" in this case) or that one incident which has the highest impact on a young mind.

The author is presently shuttling his time between assignments, projects and promoting the book. No doubt it is proving quite taxing to manage the academic rigour along with such things.

Concluded.
