Greater Role Diversity

The biggest names in investment banking continued their long standing association with the Institute - Barclays Capital, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, International Finance Corporation, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, UBS recruited interns for positions in New York, London, Zurich as well as Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo. This is in keeping with the increasing student preference to be a part of the exciting emerging Asian market scenario.
Citigroup, a new addition, recruited across all existing geographies and divisions worldwide. Other participants in the recruitment process included Private Equity players Barings and Singapore based Temasek Holdings. Consulting Companies on Day 0

One of the highlights this summer is the advent of consulting as an alternative, with the Boston Consulting Group, McKinsey & Company and Bain & Co recruiting interns. With this comes the opportunity for students to don advisory roles and work on cutting edge, live projects for the who’s who of the corporate world, thus making for a unique experience.

Looking to scale greater heights

This is just the beginning of what promises to be a path-breaking year, underscoring IIMA’s ranking amongst the top B-schools of the world. It has consistently outperformed itself with each passing year in terms of international recruitment opportunities, variety of jobs and compensation offered. This has set the stage for final recruitments for the batch of 2004-2006 which will happen in March next year. "With greater corporate participation expected in terms of diversity within sectors as well as new sectors, there is a definite indication of better work profiles and more challenging opportunities being on offer," said Prof. Bakul Dholakia, Director, IIM Ahmedabad.
