Faculty Of Management Studies Secures Top Placements for the Summers.
Students Also Offered Pre-Placement Offers.

The completion of summer placements at Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, saw an impressive response from corporates with a deluge of offers from across various industries. The top recruiters made an average of four to five offers, a marked increase from last year.

Finance saw a revival with a resurge in the demand for trainees in the area of Treasury Operations and Corporate Banking. Consumer banking continues to be a high growth area for people with skills in both marketing and finance. Demand for interns in FMCGs held steady. Altogether, the banking, FMCG and manufacturing sector (including automobiles and pharma) have been very enthusiastic and have even increased stipends in order to attract the best students.

The companies included the best with Banking being represented by Bank of America, Citibank, Standard Chartered Bank, ICICI Bank, HSBC, ABN Amro Bank. The consultants were conspicuous with their absence with only Hewitt Associates coming on campus. Some of the companies came again after a long time for the summer process, like Wipro, Ranbaxy and TAS.

The regular FMCG like HLL, Nestle, Coke, Pepsi, ITC, Colgate-Palmolive, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Cadbury's, Gilette and Reckitt Benckeiser were present and gave huge offers. Other regulars included GE Caps, Whirlpool, Maruti, and Telco. In all, the batch of 76 students was offered 94 jobs from 32 companies. The average stipend was Rs 13,000, and the highest stipend of Rs. 20,000 was offered by Standard Chartered Bank.

The faith of the students was further affirmed when the second year students were offered Pre Placement Offers (PPO) and Pre Placement Interviews (PPI). Already the batch of 30 has received 6 PPO and 2 PPI. The PPO are from Coke, Marico, GE Caps and HLL. The PPI came from GE Caps and HLL.
