At IIM Bangalore
IIMB VISTA 2003 concludes as A GRAND SUCCESS

All the top B-schools in the country converged at IIMB for VISTA 2003, which concluded on the 2nd of November. Over 50 B-schools across India and various corporates participated in this 3-day management festival that saw the likes of Dr. C. K. Prahalad, Shri P. Chidambaram, Siddhartha Basu and a host of other who's who from the industry.

True to its theme - "Beyond Vision Statements - Mission Execution", the event was executed perfectly with immaculate planning and clockwork precision.

The success story began with an overwhelming response to "Online at Nine", a blitzkrieg of online events spread over a period of fifteen days before the event. With over 1600 participants from all over the world, the event was just a precursor of the things to come. Meanwhile "Manifestations" - The paper presentation competition saw an astounding 350 entries spread over six functional areas making it the largest of its kind in India.

On the very first day of the event, over 800 awestruck people watched in admiration as Dr. C. K. Prahalad delivered a captivating talk on "creating opportunities at the bottom of the pyramid" in order to make India the next economic superpower. This was followed by an informal interactive session with the students and professors of IIM Bangalore.

On the second day of the event Shri P. Chidambaram, undoubtedly one of the best finance ministers of independent India, addressed a jam-packed auditorium on the issue of the difference in execution strategies between the Indian tiger and the Chinese dragon.

Day three was a witness to what happens when A Super Consultant, A Top Banker, a high-flier from the most diversified business groups in the country and the most powerful CFO in India try to defend their strategies against a team of prodigies from IIMB at Synthesis, the panel discussion. Vista ended in style with Bizarre, the business quiz hosted by Siddhartha Basu, who enlivened the 1500 plus audience with his charisma and energy.

Over 20 games and workshops with an average participation of over 200 for each event and cumulative prizes worth more than Rs.300000 ensured that there was never a dull moment for anyone. There couldn't have been a better example of learning mixed with fun. All said and done, IIMB moved 'Beyond Vision Statements' and displayed a perfect example of 'Mission Execution'.
