Scintillations @ IIM, Calcutta

There could not have been a more apt name for the event we witnessed as part of the end of Intaglio 2003. It was indeed the most scintillating and refreshing evening witnessed by IIM Calcutta in a long time.

Its difficult for words to describe the performance, and surely it would be nowhere close to what the eyes could see and the mind can now visualize and cherish. If there was to be an example for the quote "A thing of beauty is a joy forever", this is it.

Such was the quality of the performance that most members of the audience forgot for a moment that the performers on stage were budding managers and not professional dancers, which they looked for the best part of the evening. The wonderful combination of Classical and Western dance, excellent lighting, and wonderful music - it surely felt magical, and I was left wondering if we have more than one budding Shiamak Davars and Farah Khans amongst us. Not many present in the Audi would doubt this statement.

The crowd got so motivated that the choreography was followed by a "freestyle dance" wherein many others tried to emulate the feats of the few others who had taken center stage a few moments earlier. Maybe I can say … you not only danced ... you made others dance to your tunes.

Choreo Club 'Rocks n Rolls'. Maybe its time to change from IIMC Rocks to IIMC Rocks n Rolls. Already waiting to see Shiamaks and Farahs to face the limelight again.
