HORIZONS 2004 "Management is multi-dimensional; it is an organized body of knowledge and a much larger body of organized ignorance." - Peter F. Drucker About Horizons Horizons is an enduring journey of knowledge and thought to dispel the clouds of this organised ignorance. It is also an attempt to gaze into the future - to go beyond boundaries and to think beyond the obvious. The annual management seminar has helped the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode move towards its stated vision of being a major learning centre in the Asia-Pacific region. Horizons - Through the Years "Horizons", the annual management seminar at IIMK has been a regular feature since the year 2000. Into its fifth edition this year, Horizons has been a great success in the past with overwhelming participation from industry, B-schools, academia and the media. "Horizons" features a series of presentations from distinguished leaders across diverse fields. These presentations are followed by probing question and answer sessions which provide an enriching experience for all. Some of the prominent speakers at Horizons in the past include Mr. Shashi Kalathil, Executive Director, Pepsi; Mr. Rajat Jain, Executive VP & Business Head, Set Max; Mr. Ashvin Parekh, ED, Deloitte Touche Tohamatsu; Mr. Arvind Singhal, Chairman, KSA TechnoPak. Theme for Horizons 2004: "Changing Times - Changing Paradigms" The past decade in India has seen changes like none before. This has thrown up unforeseen challenges to industry, forcing them into newer ways to satisfy ever changing customer wants. Innovation and change has become a norm and a sine qua non for survival and growth. This year’s theme "Changing Times - Changing Paradigms" is an attempt to focus on the emerging trends, strategies and changes in the business world in response to the changes in the economic and business environment.
