The SPJIMR-VT MIT Program SPJIMR in collaboration with Virginia Tech presents a unique program that offers high class US education in Information Technology Management in India to address specific needs of the Industry. The program leads to a Master's Degree in Information Technology given jointly by Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University, USA and SPJIMR, Mumbai. Program Features
The program offers two tracks for
Professionals, working on IT Projects
Graduates with Engineering or Mathematics subjects having specialist Diploma in IT Solutions
The pedagogy is blended with strong technology inputs given on campus and experiential learning attained while on projects with the industry with regular support from the institute using web-based tools. The professional stream participants come to campus in four contacts of 3-weeks duration each. In this course fifteen courses are taught. Faculty from Virginia Tech would teach ten of these courses. The faculty from SPJIMR teaches five courses. The on-campus students join the class of the professionals during contact phases. In between contacts, the Professionals carry out exercises and assignments in their respective companies, while, the on-campus students carry out exercises in institute labs and project assignments with select IT Industry Partners. The Program is jointly designed by Virginia Tech and SPJIMR ensuring perfect mix of high quality & international class technology inputs with application project assignments localized to address the specific needs of the Indian Industry. Highly qualified and experienced Teaching Assistants ably support the Participants in carrying out lab exercises, assignments and projects.
The pedagogy involves three distinct phases: -
Preparatory Phase - Pre-learning from prescribed material and exercises
Learning Phase - classroom and web-based instructions
Application Phase - Individual & Group Assignments and Projects in Industry
