XLRI's Medal for Industrial and Social Peace
to be conferred on
Congregation of The Missionaries of Charity, Kolkata

To be presented on March 26 during the 48th Annual Convocation

The Medal, instituted in honour of the Late Sir Jehangir Ghandy, former Chairman of the Board of Governors, XLRI, is presented by the Institute for outstanding contributions to industrial and social peace in the Country. Previous recipients of the Medal include illustrious names from diverse fields such as J R D Tata, Arvind Mafatlal, Holck-Larsen, Rajmohan Gandhi, V R Krishna Iyer, S Moolgaonkar, P N Bhagwati, V Kurien, Keshub Mahindra, P A Sangma, Jyoti Basu, N A Palkhivala, J N Godrej, Brijmohan Lall Munjal and M S Banga.

The XLRI Board of Governors comprises the Chairmen of Boston Consulting Group, ITC Limited, NICCO Corp Ltd, State Bank of India, Usha Martin Group, the Directors of IIT Kharagpur, XIM Bhubaneswar, four Professors and the Director of XLRI, Managing Directors of BOC India Ltd, Tata Steel, Tinplate Company of India Ltd, Country Manager of Timken India Ltd, Dean A & F of XIM B, President, Jamshedpur Jesuit Society, Principal, St Xavier's College, Ranchi, the PS to the Chief Minister of Jharkhand and Most Rev Felix Toppo, Bishop.

At the 48th Convocation of one of India's oldest Management Schools and Asia's best HR Institutes, a batch of 62 students each from the Business Management and Personnel Management and Industrial Relations streams, 7 students from the Fellow Programme in Management and 55 Executive PGP students will graduate from XLRI to take up responsibilities in the corporate world. A special feature of the Ceremony will be the graduation of the first batch of 25 students completing the Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management from the collaborative venture between XLRI and Al Abbas Institute of Technology, Dubai.
