3. THE BPO SERVICES

BPO services can be classified on the following basis: -

3.1 Vertical Division

Vertically, BPO services are divided on the basis of the area or the field. On this basic they can be broadly be divided into categories that are centering on core competencies of the organization.

3.2 Horizontal Division

On horizontal basis, the BPO services are categorized on the basis of the type of the process. On such basis services can be seen under two heads, as can be seen below: -

3.2.1 Transactional Services

Includes more of paperwork, wherein, the data is simply collected from various sources and then presented in a compiled and required form. In this case there is no need to process and analyze the data the collected data. This type may include more of HR and Financial processes such as Resume Management, insurance claims, Joint Venture accounting.

3.2.2 Process Services

This type of outsourcing services includes collection, compilation of data in a required form, as well as the processing and analysis of data in accordance to the needs of the process and the clients. In this case the information collected is actually scanned through, analyzed and processed accordingly. Some examples of such services are Processing of Payroll, Application and Development of a software, Manufacturing.
