Relating to the cost aspect, BPO firms should streamline their process and should manage the system efficiently so that the cost is minimal. The firms should migrate to the value based services so that the cost factor is not very critical as the offering.

A word of caution for firms that outsource

The firms that outsource their activities should have a clear idea about what to outsource. Outsourcing activities left, right and center is often dangerous. Processes and activities should be ready to be outsourced, if not it could land the companies in trouble. Moreover security issues have to be dealt with properly, as outsourcing means that the power base is shifting from the company and there is every possibility that confidential information could fall in the wrong hands. So adequate measure should be taken by firms before they decide to outsource.
