Case Study: Hospitality Industry
In view of increased competition, hospitality industry is looking for avenues to decrease their opex expenditure in finance, accounting and similar functions which are generally spread across the various hotel chains. Hotel chains are strategizing to centralize their functions and execute the "information processing" centrally to achieve cost reduction, and improvise on productivity.
Historically, hotels have located their functions at each property level, as well as at corporate headquarter level. This duplication of effort introduces inefficiencies like data re-entry and limits the ability of users to receive information in a timely manner.
In the Hospitality industry, the Shared Service Model is implemented to take care of the repetitive transactions across the chain, which can be centralized and executed at one central location.
